5 Places to Eat and Drink in Skipton

Feeling peckish or a little parched? There are bars and eateries to spare, here in Skipton!

Whether you fancy a light bite or something a little more fancy, there are plenty of great eateries that are bound to pique your interest in Skipton.

In the lead up to the Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival we’ve been having a little look around our town here and picking out our favourite places to chow down at:

Keelham Kitchen @ Keelham Farm Shop

Championing the very best of local ingredients, the Keelham Farm Shop is open 7 days a week and offers a wide selection of homemade classics from the humble fish pie to the exorbitant Butcher’s Sharing Board. If there’s a particular ingredient that you like, then there’s a good chance that you’ll be able to find it in the shop proper.

Le Bistro des Amis

French food in the heart of Yorkshire might sound like the premise for a rather dodgy BBC sitcom pilot but you’ll just to have trust us that the food at Le Bistro des Amis is anything but a joke. Championed by the locals as one of the very best places to eat in town, this classy restaurant offers the closest thing to fine dining that you’ll get for miles around but in a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.

The Tempest Arms Restaurant

If you’re looking to eat, sleep and drink all in one place this Summer, then The Tempest Arms should be on your list of places to go. Not only does this 17th Century Inn have 21 comfortable rooms to welcome guests, but it also serves some of the best Pub grub for miles around. Tuck into their famous ‘Lamb Thingy Me Bob’ or sample the menu’s range of classic Pub meals.

Skipton Pie and Mash Shop

‘Low-tech’ is the name of the game when it comes to the style of food that the Skipton Pie and Mash Shop offers up. With nairy kitchen extractor fan in sight, this homegrown business has been supplying the town and the local area with delectable pies for years now from its clean and charming restaurant. All the traditional fillings are on offer, all made with local produce and served with the traditional Chips, Mushy Peas or Mash.

Skipton Sound Bar

You might not be able to grab a bite to at this venue, but you can guarantee that you’ll be able to listen to some great music whilst drinking a great cup of coffee or (even better) a glass of cold beer. The staff here at Skipton Sound Bar not only serve up Continental Beers, but they also sell records, so you might find that you leave with more than just a bottle of beer in our hand!
