The Skipton Charities Gala has been an annual event in the Town for well over a hundred years.

This year, the event takes place on Saturday 11th June.

The Gala itself takes place in Skipton's largest open space, Aireville Park, at the heart of the Town, just a few minutes walk from the High Street and canal.

The Gala opens at around 2pm, with a full programme of entertainment in the main arena, together with sideshows, stalls, plenty to eat and drink – and the famous Marshal Waddington Funfair in full flow through into the evening.

Ahead of the Gala itself is the traditional Gala Procession of floats and marching bands which winds its way through the Town Centre towards the Park.

The procession begins at 1pm – and also features this year's Gala Queen and attendants – another longstanding Skipton Tradition.

The whole day rounds off, at 10pm, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the skies around the Town.
