Sheep Day is a traditional annual celebration of Skipton's historic roots and a celebration of the Yorkshire Dales. The name 'Skipton', in medieval-speak actually means 'Sheep Town' – and the whole history of the Town owes its origins to our white (or black!!) fluffy friends From dry stone walling, to sheep-shearing, spinning and weaving. From vintage tractors to sheep dog demonstrations – and the chance to take home your very own Skipton Sheep (not a real one of course!!) – it all adds up to a family day of entertainment.
